Irish History Round Table
On the second Saturday of each month at twelve noon, in the downstairs pub, the Club will host will host a Round Table to discuss current and historical events in Ireland as well as any topic that concern the Irish in general. Each round table will have a presentation by an authority on the meeting's topic. There will not be any charge to attend.
Everyone who attends is welcome to express their own opinions and debate - cordially! There will Q&A's after the talks.

Saturday March 8 - noon
Saint Patrick
Holyoke native Tom Moriarty, Notre Dame alumnus and former head of the History Dept at Elms College, details the life of our patron saint just in time for Patrick's feast day. Tom will separate fact from fiction, history from legend. Shamrocks, snakes and slavery.

The Irish Civil War
Having discussed the Easter Rebellion and the Irish War of Independence previously with us, Prof Bill Matthews of UMass returns to complete his acclaimed trilogy. Bill uses a brilliant multimedia approach that he has presented throughout the region. Get the story behind the "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" movie.
