the JBOR Irish History Round Table and the Elms Irish Cultural Center present Mr. Andy Mendlowitz, author of "Professional Amateurs". Vacationing in Ireland, Mr Mendlowitz fell under the spell of the Gaelic games, in particular the idea of unpaid superstar athletes. He details his further eight months spent studying the phenomenon and how it relates to Ireland as a whole. In anticipation of the 2008 All-Ireland season, come listen to Mendlowitz as he discusses his book with copies for sale. Free admission and refreshments. |

Date has changed
The third annual John Boyle O’Reilly v. Sons of
Erin Golf Challenge is scheduled for Saturday
June 29. This year’s tournament is to be held at
the Westover Golf Course with dinner and
awards back at the John Boyle O’Reilly Club. It
will again be a two member scramble with two
members of the John Boyle O’Reilly Club playing
against two members of the Sons of
Erin. All proceeds to benefit the telecast of the
